Music has been an important part of my life.
Since I was a child,( I think I was four years old then),my mom had me learn music. My first piano teacher was very very harsh and severe,so every time I felt really nervous and cautious to have my piano class. Because afraiding that the teacher might haul me over the coals,I practiced the piano three hours a day.(Well,it’s really hard for a four-year –old child to sit in front of the piano continuously for such a long time.)
Although I hated music because of the suffering piano class then,”A strict master brings up accomplished disciples.” ,I had great skills in performing the piano and then was able to get into the best music class in Kaohsiung.
I received excellent training there for four years. I chose the piano as my major instrument, and the oboe as my minor one.We had to spend lots of time polishing our skills in performing.(I think that’s the biggest problem that I can’t be tall enough. I lost my adolescence which may let me grow up to 170 cm tall as a model!O_o) And teachers often asked us to go to concerts and handed in the paper next day,and even asked us to distinguish which symphony belongs to which composer! Besides, our singing pitch and the composure on stage were demanded strictly. Moreover,we had an exclusive concert every year, and parents, teachers or friends were invited to this distinguuished gathering,so it was regarded as a big event to us.
The experiernce which impressed me the most are the orchestra and the chamber music. First, our orchestra participate in competitions every year. Because I was the chief of the wind music,I had solo in many music. Every time when the conductor looked straight at me and motioned me to start my solo,I felt so nervous that I thonght I might have hypertension! If I played well,I would’t have to feel sorry to other members. It really pressed me a lot,so to speak. The other thing made my music life colorful is the chamber music. I orgnized a quintet, and it was really interesting! Five people with five instruments shared their favorite ways of performing music, and we discussed which was the best one to us. I learned a lot from this experience. I understood how to express my own idea to others, cared about different voices and fostered good co-operation.
The busy life in the music class made my childhood different but substantial.
Although I loved music a lot, I looked it as my hobby at most.I didn’t see it as my future profession,so I refused to keep working on the music road. However,if I feel down,I still take my instrument and play it for a while. The soothing melody always inspires me a lot. By the way, there is music surrounding my house all the time!
That’s my music history, and I am sure that it will continue.
I love music,forever.
